    Duro Sweden - Accessible Redesign

A 3-week UX/UI case where we redesigned Duro Sweden's wallpaper shopping flow to improve WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility, restore filter trust, and reduce checkout friction.

    Problem

Duro Sweden's e-commerce upgrade had major usability and accessibility gaps: broken keyboard navigation, restrictive filtering, mismatched product variant visuals, and unnecessary login friction for basic actions like wishlisting.

    Solution

Redesigned the category list, filtering, and product page flow with visible focus states, logical tab order, WCAG-compliant contrast and target sizing, dynamic multi-select filtering, variant-aware product imagery, and immediate interaction feedback through button states and toast notifications.

    Role

UX/UI Designer in a cross-functional team of four, responsible for accessibility audits, moderated user testing, insight synthesis with affinity mapping, wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes in Figma, and final stakeholder presentation.

    Outcomes

Second-round testing validated a much smoother flow and removed critical keyboard dead ends. Users strongly preferred the new filtering and frictionless wishlist behavior. Baseline site for comparison: https://www.durosweden.se/

    Lessons Learned

    • Accessibility is tightly connected to conversion, not just compliance.
    • Even small UI assumptions like a 'Clear all filters' link must be tested for affordance.
    • Visual confirmation must always match user intent to preserve trust.
