    Minecraft Server Plugins

A collection of Paper, Bukkit, and Spigot systems for server owners: configurable quests, escalating hardcore challenges, persistent progression, rewards, events, and client-server features.

    Problem

Minecraft server owners often need replayable progression and events without hard-coding every objective or manually coordinating every challenge. Existing experiments also needed modernization for current Paper versions and clearer administration.

    Solution

Developed and maintained server-side systems led by MegaQuests, a GUI-configurable quest and reward plugin, and Hardcore Escalation, a persistent challenge engine that adds weighted modifiers and random events over time. The portfolio also includes the Paper companion that makes Map Face visible to other players.

    Role

Independent plugin developer handling systems design, Java implementation, persistence, commands, admin UX, test coverage, version upgrades, release packaging, and Modrinth/Spigot distribution.

    Outcomes

MegaQuests reached 397 Modrinth downloads in the verified July snapshot and remained the strongest source of plugin traffic. Updating MegaQuests and related plugins for current versions also produced the first small Modrinth revenue signal, motivating a more deliberate publish-and-maintain workflow.

    Lessons Learned

    • Server tools need clear operator controls, durable state, and safe defaults before they need more content.
    • Weighted event systems become easier to extend when selection rules, cooldowns, persistence, and player feedback are separate concerns.
    • Maintaining older plugins across new Minecraft versions can uncover demand, but compatibility claims and build metadata must be revalidated with every release.
    • Even small download and revenue signals are useful validation when they lead to better prioritization rather than uncontrolled feature expansion.
