    Problem

During a 48-hour hackathon at Hetch, our team lacked a clear direction after exploring ideas that felt low-energy and not unique.

    Solution

During lunch and some brainstorming we pivoted to Rank A Plank, a competitive planking app with a timer, basic camera anti-cheat, leaderboards, and user profiles, prioritizing speed, usability, and immediate social engagement.

    Role

Co-creator and developer responsible for ideation, rapid pivoting, core functionality (timer, leaderboard logic, profile system).

    Outcomes

Built and presented a functional prototype within hours, generated strong social traction during the event, and got a large part of the hackathon lobby actively participating. The project was later paused after the event.

    Lessons Learned

    • Momentum beats overthinking; the best idea came from spontaneity, not strategy.
    • Social energy can matter more than technical depth in short-format projects.
    • Shipping fast creates excitement, while perfection can kill momentum.
    • Not every project needs to scale; some are valuable for experience and exposure.
